((New--Why
Your Community Needs Its Airport))
NAMA CONFERENCE 2008 IN MESQUITE, NEVADA ON
APRIL 20 - 23, 2008
Message from the President, Joni Eastley. |
The Nevada Airport Managers welcome you.
A vast array of airports serves Nevada in many ways. From ultramodern
to simple gravel strips, we have them all. Our association is
here to assist airport managers throughout our state in maintaining
their airports through provision of information and education,
legislative advocacy and networking.
We meet twice a year. In the spring to share ideas, get the
latest information from our regional FAA office and mentor one
another in our latest airport projects. We hold another general
meeting and workshop in the fall in conjunction with our affiliation
with Nevada Association of Counties.
A significant accomplishment for NAMA during the NV 2005 Legislative
Session was the passage of a $500,000 appropriation to the NV
Aviation Trust Fund for matching FAA grants and authorization
of an interim study to recommend methods to sustain the fund.
NAMA has graduated to a whole new level of interaction with
NDOT and together we have a golden opportunity to help our eligible
non-primary airports in ways that has never been done before.
We will also participate heavily in the development of recommendations
for the 2007 Legislature.
Working closely with Nevada Department of Transportation, the
FAA, AOPA, a variety of professional services consultants and
one another, we strive to provide a valuable service to our
membership and the aviation community. We look forward to your
participation. Please explore our website and don’t hesitate
to contact us if you have any questions.
